Apple Maps in iOS 10 Will Remember Where You Parked Your Car

iOS-10-Maps-parked-car-1024x512

There are a lot of factors that can contribute to someone forgetting where they parked their car, but Apple Maps and iOS 10 want to help alleviate that issue.
There are plenty of third-party solutions out there that aim to help, too, but if you prefer your car locating experience to be first party, Apple’s finally getting around to lending a helping hand. As discovered by 9to5Mac, Apple Maps in iOS 10 will remember where you parked your car, and even let you know where to find it, too.

As reported by the publication, a notification appeared on an iPhone SE running the iOS 10 beta as soon as the phone was disconnected from CarPlay. iOS will also be aware of when the user enters or leaves their car, based on connecting or disconnecting to Bluetooth.
Activating that notification will then open up Apple Maps, which will open a new Parked Car element within the application. From there the user can get directions back to their parked car, which is pinned, edit the location if it’s not quite right, and even add more context (like the parking lot number) if needed.
iOS 10 has a ton of new features, which you can see right here. What do you think of this latest addition?

How to install iOS 10 beta on your iPhone or iPad without a developer account

Apple on Monday unveiled iOS 10, a massive software update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that’s going to be released this fall when the iPhone 7 is released. However, it’s likely that millions of iOS developers have already installed the first iOS 10 beta that was made available soon after the keynote ended. Of course, you don’t need to be a developer to use iOS 10 right now. Users who don’t have access to a developer account and don’t want to wait until July to get their hands on the first public beta version of iOS 10 can download and install iOS 10 right away by following the incredibly easy directions below.
For years, early iOS adopters had access to developer beta versions. The legal route involves either paying the $99 yearly fee for Apple’s developer program or getting access to a friend’s account. Starting in 2015, Apple rolled out a public beta program for iOS, which is the recommended way to get iOS beta updates that typically get released to the public a day after developers get them. But when a brand new version of iOS is announced at WWDC, people have to wait until it’s stable before Apple releases a public beta.
The shadier path involves taking advantage of certain flaws in Apple’s iOS update process, which is probably the preferred method following WWDC.
YouTube channel iCrackUriDevice is one of the web resources that offers constant information on how to bypass Apple’s restrictions and run developer beta builds without access to a developer account, and the channel has figured out how to install the first iOS 10 beta on any supported device.
Sadly – or thankfully, depending on your perspective – Apple closed the previous loophole that made this process possible. It’s probably for the best because it came with several warnings and potentially annoying side effects.
The new method is still frowned upon, but it doesn’t involve any tricks. In fact, you don’t even need a computer to perform the installation. All you have to do is use a search engine to find a publicly available link to the developer profile, install the profile directly on your iPhone or iPad, and then install iOS 10 beta 1 just like you would install a regular iOS update. You’ll also almost certainly then seamlessly move to future iOS 10 beta once they roll out in the coming weeks.
The process is incredibly easy and fast. But I’ll note once again that it’s frowned upon, given that you’re installing the software you shouldn’t have access to in the first place. It might even prevent you from receiving service at an Apple Store, and it’s also the kind of trick Apple might kill in the future, so enjoy it while it lasts.
Check out the following video to see how it works.

New Concept Photos Imagine iPhone 7 in Deep Blue

27021489663_ba326b37ee_b-1024x576

Recent rumors have claimed that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 series will come in a new “deep blue” color option, and new renders created by concept designer Martin Hajek give us an idea of what it could look like.
According to sources in Apple’s supply chain, this new color option could replace slate gray. It seems unlikely Apple would ditch such a popular model, unless the “deep blue” option is dark enough that it’s closer to black than blue.

That’s pretty much what we get from these gorgeous concept images of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in deep blue. The handsets are also imagined with Smart Connectors, redesigned antenna bands, dual cameras, and no headphone jack.

We still don’t know for sure that this deep blue color option will be available when Apple launches the iPhone 7 lineup this fall; it’s best to take claims from the supply chain with a pinch of salt until they’re confirmed.
But, based on these mockups, would you buy an iPhone 7 in deep blue?

How To Code Like The Top Programmers At NASA — 10 Critical Rules

Short Bytes: Do you know how top programmers write mission-critical code at NASA? To make such code clearer, safer, and easier to understand, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has laid 10 rules for developing software.
The developers at NASA have one of the most challenging jobs in the programming world. They write code and develop mission-critical applications with safety as their primary concerns.
In such situations, it’s important to follow some serious coding guidelines. These rules cover different aspects of software development like how a software should be written, which language features should be used etc.
Even though it’s difficult to establish a consensus over a good coding standard, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) follows a set of guidelines of codenamed “The Power of Ten–Rules for Developing Safety Critical Code”.
This guide focuses mainly on code written in C programming languages due to JPL’s long association with the language. But, these guidelines could be easily applied on other programming languages as well.
Laid by JPL lead scientist Gerard J. Holzmann, these strict coding rules focus on security.
NASA’s 10 rules for writing mission-critical code:
  1. Restrict all code to very simple control flow constructs – do not use goto statements, setjmp or longjmp constructs, and direct or indirect recursion.
  2. All loops must have a fixed upper-bound. It must be trivially possible for a checking tool to prove statically that a preset upper-bound on the number of iterations of a loop cannot be exceeded. If the loop-bound cannot be proven statically, the rule is considered violated.
  3. Do not use dynamic memory allocation after initialization.
  4. No function should be longer than what can be printed on a single sheet of paper in a standard reference format with one line per statement and one line per declaration. Typically, this means no more than about 60 lines of code per function.
  5. The assertion density of the code should average to a minimum of two assertions per function. Assertions are used to check for anomalous conditions that should never happen in real-life executions. Assertions must always be side-effect free and should be defined as Boolean tests. When an assertion fails, an explicit recovery action must be taken, e.g., by returning an error condition to the caller of the function that executes the failing assertion. Any assertion for which a static checking tool can prove that it can never fail or never hold violates this rule (I.e., it is not possible to satisfy the rule by adding unhelpful “assert(true)” statements).
  6. Data objects must be declared at the smallest possible level of scope.
  7. The return value of non-void functions must be checked by each calling function, and the validity of parameters must be checked inside each function.
  8. The use of the preprocessor must be limited to the inclusion of header files and simple macro definitions. Token pasting, variable argument lists (ellipses), and recursive macro calls are not allowed. All macros must expand into complete syntactic units. The use of conditional compilation directives is often also dubious, but cannot always be avoided. This means that there should rarely be justification for more than one or two conditional compilation directives even in large software development efforts, beyond the standard boilerplate that avoids multiple inclusion of the same header file. Each such use should be flagged by a tool-based checker and justified in the code.
  9. The use of pointers should be restricted. Specifically, no more than one level of dereferencing is allowed. Pointer dereference operations may not be hidden in macro definitions or inside typedef declarations. Function pointers are not permitted.
  10. All code must be compiled, from the first day of development, with all compiler warnings enabled at the compiler’s most pedantic setting. All code must compile with these setting without any warnings. All code must be checked daily with at least one, but preferably more than one, state-of-the-art static source code analyzer and should pass the analyses with zero warnings.
About these rules, here’s what NASA has to say:
The rules act like the seat-belt in your car: initially they are perhaps a little uncomfortable, but after a while their use becomes second-nature and not using them becomes unimaginable.

The Voice' singer Christina Grimmie shot dead in concert

Miami — Singer Christina Grimmie, who starred in NBC's "The Voice," was killed after being shot at a concert in Orlando, Florida by an unidentified gunman, who then killed himself, police said Saturday.
"With deep regret, we have confirmed Christina Grimmie, @TheRealGrimmie, has died from her injuries," the Orlando Police Department said on its Twitter account.
The 22-year-old Grimmie performed late Friday with the group Before You Exit at Orlando's Plaza Live Theater and stayed after to sign autographs and sell merchandise.
A man, who was armed with two guns, walked toward her and shot her, police said.
"Christina's brother immediately tackled the suspect, who shot & killed himself," the police said.
Grimmie was rushed to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The motive of the gunman, who was not identified, was unclear.
"We don't know if he was just a crazy fan that followed her on Twitter or on social media. We really don't know," police spokeswoman Wanda Miglio said at a news conference.
"This is a very tragic event. This should have been something that was fun and exciting, and for something like this to happen is just a tragedy."
She said about 60 to 100 people attended the concert, but only a handful were left when the shooting occurred.
"Her brother is a hero for saving and stopping him from not hurting anyone else," Miglio said.
The shooting seemed likely to add fuel to the long simmering debate over gun laws in the United States, where guns were used in more than 11,200 murders in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
But past bouts of even more extreme gun violence, including the 2012 killing of 20 school children at an elementary school in Connecticut, have led to little change in a country where the right to bear arms is protected under the second amendment of the US constitution.
US Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton has vowed to take on the powerful US gun lobby if elected president, while Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, has promised "to cherish the Second Amendment".
'We are heartbroken'
Grimmie, who competed in the sixth season of "The Voice" in 2014, released her debut EP "Find Me" in 2011.
"We are heartbroken," the NBC talent show said on its Twitter account after the shooting, calling the young singer "a loved member of our family".
"There are no words. We lost a beautiful soul w/ an amazing voice," it said after her death was confirmed.
Adam Levine, the singer whose team she performed with on the program, posted a picture of himself with her on his Instagram account after the incident when the singer was taken wounded but still alive to the hospital.
"I'm sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this... this just isn't fair," he wrote, before news of her death became public.
Fans posted video clips on social media of her performances, including her cover of Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" during a blind audition on "The Voice".
A New Jersey native, Grimmie first gained public attention with moving covers of hit songs in videos viewed by millions on YouTube. — Agence France-Presse

How to watch 3D movies on your PC/laptop using VLC Media Player

When it comes to selecting a media player for your PC and laptop, majority of the people would definitely choose VLC media player over any of the other media players available. The reason being, VLC media player can play almost all the media file formats and it is indeed a proven fact.
VLC is certainly a popular video player, thanks to its ease of use and its adaptability. It is an open source program that runs some of the most common video formats, including .flv, the typical format you’ll find on Vimeo and YouTube. You can even use it with some simple modifications to play movies in 3D.
However, the only problem is that it supports Red and Cyan 3D viewing option only. So, all you need to do is just get a 3D SBS (Side-By-Side) movie and watch it using your VLC media player. For those who need to watch 3D SBS movies on their PC, here’s how you can do so.

Steps To Watch 3D Movies on Your PC/Laptop Using VLC Media Player:

1. Run VLC Media Player and play the 3D SBS movie in it. Make sure that the movie you will be playing is a SBS (Side-By-Side) 3D movie.
2. Click on Tools and select Effects and Filters.

How To Enable GodMode In Windows and Its Complete Features

What is GodMode?

Windows GodMode is an old trick, but I thought it’d be nice to share it with our readers who don’t know about it as Windows 10 is released. Also, I’ll be telling about all GodMode folders here, not just a single one. Windows GodMode, as the name suggests, provides you a shortcut and grander access to various control panel settings. It is also known as the Windows Master Control Panel shortcut (All Tasks) or All Tasks folder by different people.
By making this GodMode folder, you’ll get access to all the settings of the control panel in your OS within a single folder. This hack was first revealed in 2007 and it works in operating systems higher than Windows Vista i.e Window 7, Window 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
As you’ll know how to do it, you’ll come across the step of renaming the folder and using the phrase “GodMode”. Actually, GodMode name has nothing to do with this trick. Use your name instead of GodMode and it’ll work just fine because GodMode is just a name given to this trick as it got popular.

How To Enable GodMode?

  1.  Create a new folder in Windows
    god-mode-1
  2. Rename it to: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}godmode
  3. Once renamed it’ll converted and looks like control panel icon, open and there you have it.god-mode-enablegodmode-enabled
Note: You can enable GodMode using this trick in Windows Vista Window 7, Window 8, Windows 8.1,and Windows 10.

How to enable all GodMode folders?

There’s a lot more to this GodMode trick. There are a lot more GodMode folders waiting for you to utilize them. Copy and paste the script written below in a new notepad file. Rename this file as “godmodes.bat” and paste at the location where you want these GodMode folders to be. Now click on the renamed file “godmodes.bat” and there you have a list of GodMode folders, all with different uses.
